Oily Skin Remedies

December 6th, 2011

Question your conventional cosmetics choices

Many people, especially on the West, treat their bodies as something that is strange, something they have to fight against. What happened to us to think that we have to fight against ourselves?

Essential is to trust our bodies

It became normal to use aggressive products to fight against our normal body fluids, normal body processes. But, probably now you are asking yourself, what to do if I really have a problem that I need to treat? You are right, problems need to be treated. But, there is a huge difference between aggressive products that can destroy cells which are actually protecting us and choices that nurture our beauty. The solution is, I truly believe, to learn again how to trust ourselves and to turn to natural resources within ourselves and our surroundings.

Natural cosmetics – better cosmetics choice

Natural cosmetics, not only that help us with our problems, but also nourish our body. In the end we discover beauty within ourselves we didn′t know even exists.

But, not just to stay on empty words, here is an example of oily skin problem and better, mostly natural solutions for treatment.

Oily Skin Remedies

Firstly, to get to the essence of oily skin remedies ask yourself:

  • Which skin and cleaning products do you use?
  • What do you eat?
  • What and how much do you drink?

Try to avoid:

  • Cleaning products that contain detergents, soaps and foamy baths.
  • Alcohol based astringents can cause your skin to become even more oily and remove your skin`s natural acid protective mantle.
  • Food with iodine, bad digestion or imbalance in enteric flora can also cause acne.
  • Try to avoid food with lack of fibres and food which is rich in sugar and hydrogen fat. » Read more: Oily Skin Remedies

What Are Negative Ions?

December 5th, 2011

Even though they are call Negative Ions they help in a positive way. The terms Negative and Positive are actually reversed. In this context, and although a misnomer supposedly blamed on Benjamin Franklin, it is said that we are stuck with this 18th century terminology, since electrons and atoms were not quite as well understood then as they are today.

Negative ions freshen and purify the air. Negative ionization does a superb job of eliminating most tiny particles that float in the air. (Even when the air in a room seems calm, tiny particles are usually suspended in the air because of the convective air currents.) An ionized room can help people with allergies because allergens such as animal dander, mold spores and pollen will clump together and fall to the floor to be vacuumed up rather than left floating in the air to be breathed in where they can cause allergic reactions.

Ionized room air does not have to pass through a filter or be circulated by a fan to be cleaned. In a filter-type purifier with a fan or blower, only the air that goes through the filter can be cleaned. And even then, the tiniest particles still can flow through the filter. These tiny particles can be better removed by ionization than filtering, even HEPA filters.

Remember, the word negative is good, in this context. You will find high levels of negative ions in more natural settings: at the beach, in the mountains, in the country, in pine forests, near waterfalls — all the places that we feel good after we visit them.

Compare the negative ion count, per cubic centimeter (about the size of a sugar cube), in the following examples:

  • Urban environments, for instance, Los Angeles freeway during rush hour has about 100 negative ions per cubic centimeter
  • Fresh country air contains about 2,000 to 4,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter
  • Yosemite Falls, over 100,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter!

Perhaps now we can understand that wonderful, uplifted feeling we experience when we are near a waterfall or enjoying the outdoors high in the mountains around those beautiful pines. These are two places that thousands of negative ions occur. As you can see, they create a ‘positive’ effect on human biochemistry. » Read more: What Are Negative Ions?

The Healing Powers of Far-Infrared Ray

December 4th, 2011

Far-infrared rays have been dubbed “the Light of Life”. NASA determined that the far-infrared part of the sun’s spectrum is most beneficial for life on earth… therefore coining the phrase. It provides the healthy benefits of natural sunlight without any of the dangerous effects of solar radiation.

Infrared light is part of the sun’s invisible spectrum. We can, however, feel this type of light, which we perceive as heat. The sun emits rays both visible and invisible to the human eye. Visible rays are seen as a ray of sunlight consisting of the seven colors…red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Rays invisible to the human eye are: infrared rays, ultra-violet, x-rays, and microwaves.

In 1800 the German astronomer, William Herschel, found the infrared rays. He discovered that the temperature of the colors increase as you go from violet to red, yet that the increase in temperature did not stop after red. There existed a space where ‘no visible color was present’. He named this invisible ray, the infrared ray.

One of the characteristics of the Far-Infrared Ray (FIR) is how easily this light is able to penetrate through human tissue. When this occurs a natural resonance is created, which has many beneficial properties. One use of these rays is in China, Palm healing, a 3000 year-old tradition, based on the healing properties of these infrared rays.

Jade is known to be a natural transmitter of far-infrared rays in the same wavelength as from the human body, and it is known to produce negative ions which encourage the cells metabolism. Also “resonant absorption” is a quality of far-infrared whereby tissues needing repair selectively absorb the rays while the remaining rays pass on harmlessly.

Because of the many beneficial effects on the human body, in such a wide range of conditions, far-infrared has also been dubbed “The Medicine of the 21st Century.” A few other positive benefits of far-infrared is:

  • Promotes detoxification
  • Reduces muscle spasms.
  • Increases blood circulation throughout the body
  • Increases metabolism
  • Breaks down and Excretes harmful waste products in the blood and organs
  • Sciatic Nerve and Lower back
  • Reduces Swelling & Inflammation
  • Enhances Immune System
  • Relieves Stress & Fatigue
  • Relieves Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.)
  • Increases healing (cuts & bruises)
  • Reduces Joint Stiffness » Read more: The Healing Powers of Far-Infrared Ray
